Rudolf Steiner .... smoooooth architecture!

Came across this architect while watching the-restoration-man one night. His name is Rudolf Steiner and his buidings are odd shaped for the typical building.

I was particularly drawn to his Goetheanum buildings. I like the smooth continuous lines, reminds me of he smooth oval shapes I'm working on at the moment in ceramics. Although I like the idea he had for the staircase in the building, supported by pillars that were carved as creature's legs......

Maybe I should just stick legs on everything eh?!

  1. Before Steiner began to express himself in architecture and various other works, he spent the first phase of his life freeing his creative mind. By means of self-observation and the scientific method he arrived at his principles of free thinking and free morality. This is described in his fundamental book, the "Philosophy Of Freedom". For anyone wanting to learn about Steiner's philosophy of life a free online study course is available at http://www.philosophyoffreedom.com/ .
